Higher, the mountains grow,
Lower, all the people know,
That the ghosts in the hills keep them stuck to the earth like glue,
Gotta catch a northbound train to the top, try to shake these blues.
I really think they might know,
They see me when I’m at home,
They see me talking on the phone,
I’ll never really be alone.
Keep running from these old foes,
I really think they might know,
Feel sorry for you millenials,
You’ll never be alone.
High, and far away,
The emperor lays in the the finest silk today.
But a pigeon in a tree said that he’s got his eye on you,
And the word on the streets is he’d really like to meet you too.
I really think they might know,
They see me when I’m at home,
See me talking on the phone,
We’re never really alone.
Keep running from these old foes,
I really think they might know,
Feel sorry for you millenials,
You’ll never be alone.
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Sweet, retro rock. Encapsulates the 60s sound perfectly. Festive, chill; acid dancer. Fun to listen to, great to vibe off of, move your body to, or just relax with. Every song on this album is a hit. Dancing album for sure... I saw them live, same kind of fun! ebookreader
